SS&C Technologies approaches its October 22 third-quarter update with two linked questions: did the second-quarter acceleration persist, and did cash generation remain strong enough to support a leveraged balance sheet? The latest completed quarter offered encouraging evidence, but the next release must show whether that progress represents a durable operating pattern.
Adjusted revenue for the second quarter was $1,696.9 million, up 10.3% from a year earlier. Adjusted organic revenue growth reached 7.6%, compared with 5.0% in the first quarter. Adjusted EBITDA rose 11.7% to $670.7 million, and the adjusted margin edged higher to 39.5%. The combination points to better growth and operating efficiency, while the reliance on adjusted measures keeps the quality of the earnings bridge in focus.
Cash flow provides a second lens. Operating cash flow for the first six months increased to $716.4 million from $645.1 million. The same period ended with gross debt of $7,613.5 million and net leverage of 2.75 times consolidated EBITDA. These figures make the coming update not only a revenue event, but also a check on whether operating momentum can coexist with disciplined leverage and capital allocation.
Business breadth matters as well. GlobeOp, Global Investor and Distribution Solutions, Wealth and Investment Technologies, and Intralinks posted positive adjusted organic growth in the second quarter, while two other units were negative. Recent product and client announcements added activity, yet the reviewed source did not quantify their bookings, revenue or margin contribution. The strongest confirmation would therefore come from reported growth, profitability, cash flow and updated guidance rather than announcement volume.
SSNC had advanced 21.47% over 63 completed sessions through October 15. That backdrop raises the proof standard around the October 22 release without determining the outcome. The most useful read will connect organic growth, business mix, adjusted and GAAP earnings, cash conversion and leverage.
