Pegasystems enters the next phase of its cloud transition with a clear split between product momentum and companywide performance. At September 30, 2026, Pega Cloud annual contract value had risen 20% and represented 59% of total annual contract value. Total annual contract value grew 6% as reported and 7% in constant currency, leaving the broader growth rate well behind the cloud business.
Third-quarter revenue increased 3% to $393.359 million, while Pega Cloud revenue advanced 19% to $218.925 million and made up 56% of revenue. Contracted demand looked stronger than recognized revenue: backlog rose 15% to $2.009 billion, with cloud accounting for $1.597 billion, 80% of the total, after 24% growth. This gap makes execution the key question rather than cloud demand alone.
Cash results add another test. Through nine months, operating cash flow was $304.299 million and free cash flow was $289.825 million, declines of 12% and 14%, respectively. Cash plus marketable securities fell to $309.711 million from $425.799 million at the end of 2025. Management also linked softer year-to-date contract-value growth largely to go-to-market execution challenges, even as it described the quarter's contract addition as the strongest of 2026.
Legal uncertainty remains material but unresolved. A separate federal jury trial involving Appian is scheduled to begin November 30, 2026, and the remanded Virginia trade-secret retrial is scheduled for January 11, 2027. Pegasystems says the likelihood and range of possible gain or loss in the federal case cannot be reasonably estimated. The prior Virginia judgment was reversed, so it is not a current award, while the new proceeding still introduces a wide range of outcomes.
Taken together, the evidence shows a cloud engine gaining scale inside a business that still needs broader growth and firmer cash conversion. The full Pegasystems premium review examines the operating evidence, litigation calendar and questions that can clarify whether cloud strength is translating into more durable companywide results.
