Good morning.

Both official Nasdaq calendars support a regular United States trading session today.

The ten-year Treasury yield is holding near 5.11%, its highest level since 2007. That is the pressure point for this morning's market. S and P 500 futures were modestly lower after Wednesday's broad retreat.

The Nasdaq Composite lost about 1.1% on Wednesday. The S and P 500 fell about 0.8%. Nine of 11 S and P 500 sectors declined. Utilities and communication services led the losses, while energy rose with crude.

Oil eased overnight but remained elevated. Brent crude was near $102.05 a barrel. W T I crude was near $91.48. Spot gold was near $4,302 an ounce, and the dollar index was near 101.09.

The August new-home-sales report is due at 10 Eastern time. New York Fed President John Williams and Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack are also scheduled to speak.

Company news adds two A I infrastructure crosscurrents. Supermicro said it is now shipping NVIDIA Vera Rubin racks with its liquid-cooling stack. Reuters reported that a Chinese state agency was surveying Broadcom switch use in state data centers, but no formal restriction or sales impact was reported.

The opening test is whether yields and oil can ease together while market breadth improves. If both stay elevated, rate-sensitive growth shares remain the vulnerable part of the market.
