CAMS Morning Market Brief: October 20, 2026

Nasdaq 100 futures fell 0.34% as WTI crude jumped 3.70% before sunrise.

Good morning.

It is Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Nasdaq 100 futures fell 0.34% as WTI crude jumped 3.70% before sunrise.

Dow futures rose 0.20%, while S and P 500 futures were little changed.

Monday's Nasdaq Composite gained 1.11%.

Reuters reported broad losses in Asian stocks as geopolitical risk and upcoming artificial-intelligence earnings weighed on sentiment.

WTI crude traded at $107.50 a barrel at six eleven Eastern.

The 10-year Treasury yield was near 5.13%, and the VIX was 18.59.

New residential construction is due at eight thirty Eastern.

State employment data follow at ten.

The Federal Reserve calendar lists no speech or policy decision today.

Amazon is also introducing TorchNeuron, which Reuters said lets PyTorch workloads run on Trainium with a single configuration change.

That may lower a software hurdle for Amazon's chips, but commercial adoption is not yet established.

Lam Research holds its earnings call after Wednesday's close.

Texas Instruments follows after Wednesday's close.

The near-term test is whether technology can absorb firmer oil without another rise in long yields.

A reversal in crude and steady yields would support stabilization.

A push higher in both would add pressure.
