WST Research Note — Good Quarter, Harder Proof

CAMS — WST Research Note August 3, 2026

West Pharmaceutical's beat-and-raise confirmed a real operating recovery, but the market did not accept the evidence without a fight. Revenue reached $872.3 million, adjusted earnings were $2.37 a share and management raised organic-growth guidance to 10%–11%. The balance sheet remains net cash.

The counterweight is a heavy-volume reversal after the report, a trailing valuation near 42.5 times earnings and an unresolved question: whether oral obesity medicines can reduce injectable-component demand faster than current expectations assume. The October evidence must connect high-value growth to margin conversion.
