TSM Research Note — Capacity Faces the Proof Test

CAMS — TSM Research Note July 31, 2026
CAMS — TSM Research Note July 31, 2026

TSMC's operating record remains strong, but its capital program has raised the burden of proof. The July 31 research records 64% gross margin, 36% revenue growth and an eighth consecutive quarterly earnings beat. June revenue increased 67.9% from a year earlier.

The unresolved issue is conversion. A $60–64 billion spending plan can deepen TSMC's manufacturing lead if AI demand, N2 yields and customer ramps arrive on schedule. It can also lift depreciation before the matching revenue is visible. The July 30 reversal followed supportive hyperscaler spending commentary, though TSM remained below its 50-day trend after a sharp technology-sector decline.

The full Level 2+ review examines the internal debate, operating ledger, valuation scenarios and the evidence that would change the thesis. Read the gated TSM Deep Coverage Review or join CAMS Premium Research.
