TSMC's operating evidence remains exceptional, but the next test sits outside the income statement. The company has beaten earnings expectations in eight straight quarters, Q2 gross margin reached 67.7%, and management raised its full-year revenue-growth outlook to slightly above 40%.
The shares closed August 7 below their 50-day average while remaining about 15% above a re-derived 200-day trend. That leaves the long-term structure intact, but the August 12 CPI report and the next two monthly revenue releases will test whether the market will continue paying a premium for capacity growth.
