Morgan Stanley's operating results improved faster than its market structure. Second-quarter earnings reached $3.46 a share against a $2.93 consensus estimate, return on tangible common equity was 26.6%, and all three major segments posted record revenue. Yet the shares fell 4.08% after the report and lagged XLF by about four percentage points over 21 sessions.
Wealth Management's 30.5% pre-tax margin fills an important evidence gap from the prior review. The remaining questions are whether that margin can hold, whether the stock can regain its 50-day trend, and whether an unconfirmed report concerning mortgage-approval practices develops into a named regulatory matter.
The full Level 2+ review examines the internal debate, operating ledger, tangible-book valuation scenarios, market structure and the October evidence window. Read the gated MS Deep Coverage Review or join CAMS Premium Research.
