Good morning.

Both official Nasdaq calendars support a regular United States trading session today.

Bond yields eased overnight, and stock futures moved higher before a heavy data window. The ten-year Treasury yield was near 5.22%, down three basis points.

At four ten Eastern, Dow futures were up about 0.5%. S and P 500 futures were up about 0.3%. Nasdaq futures were up about 0.4%.

That rebound follows a weak close beneath the surface on Tuesday. The S and P 500 slipped about 0.2%, the Nasdaq Composite was nearly flat, the Dow fell about 0.3%, and the Russell Two Thousand lost about 0.4%.

Participation was thin. Nasdaq had 2,392 decliners and 1,206 advancers. The New York Stock Exchange had 1,995 decliners and 626 advancers.

Semiconductors gained about 1.1%, and utilities rose about 1.2%. West Texas Intermediate crude fell about 3.8% to $89.12 a barrel. Gold rose about 0.9% to $4,207.

The immediate data test comes at eight thirty Eastern. The Bureau of Economic Analysis is scheduled to release its third estimate for second-quarter growth and the August Personal Income and Outlays report.

Micron's fiscal fourth-quarter call comes after the market close. Its report will offer another read on memory demand across the semiconductor chain.

Near the open, a durable rebound needs yields to stay contained and participation to broaden. A quick reversal in yields would put rate-sensitive growth shares back under pressure.
