Technology futures bounced and crude oil eased, but the 10-year Treasury yield stayed near 5.3% before Friday's opening bell.
At six oh eight Eastern, S and P 500 futures were up 0.41%.
Nasdaq 100 futures were up 0.82%.
Dow futures were up 0.17%.
The semiconductor fund gained 1.76% before the market, while the energy fund fell 0.67%.
West Texas Intermediate crude was near $91 a barrel.
Brent was near $103 a barrel.
The relief followed a rough Thursday for technology.
The Nasdaq Composite lost 1.25%, and the semiconductor fund fell 2.84%.
The S and P 500 fell 0.47%, while the Dow added 0.10%.
Bloomberg reported that newer private OpenAI revenue estimates helped sentiment, but those estimates did not come from a company filing.
Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said more rate increases would be appropriate if the data continue as expected, with flexibility on timing.
The University of Michigan's preliminary October consumer survey is due today.
Delta Air Lines scheduled a morning call to discuss its September-quarter results.
The opening will test whether semiconductors can hold the bounce while Treasury yields remain elevated.
