CAMS Morning Market Brief: October 15, 2026

Nasdaq 100 futures fell 1.17% as the global artificial intelligence selloff deepened despite strong T S M C results.

Good morning.
This is the CAMS Morning Market Brief for Thursday, October 15, 2026.
Nasdaq 100 futures fell 1.17% as the global artificial intelligence selloff deepened despite strong T S M C results.

At six oh eight Eastern, S and P 500 futures were down 0.31%, Nasdaq 100 futures were down 1.17%, and Dow futures were up 0.29%.
Wednesday's cash session ended with the S and P 500 down 1.11%, the Nasdaq Composite down 1.88%, and the Dow down 0.09%.
Trading volume reached 18 billion shares, above the 20-day average of 17.6 billion.
Information technology led the declines, and the Philadelphia semiconductor index fell 4.3%.

T S M C reported $46.72 billion of third-quarter revenue, above its guidance range, and guided fourth-quarter revenue to $52.3 billion to $54.3 billion.
The strong foundry outlook did not stop broad chip selling in Asia, Europe, or the United States premarket.
The 10-year Treasury yield eased to 5.081%.
Gold futures rose 1.70% to about $4,178 per ounce, while the dollar index fell 0.46%.

West Texas Intermediate crude was near $94.80, and Brent was near $104.
Oil eased even as attacks on shipping near the Strait of Hormuz kept supply risk in focus.
September producer prices and retail sales are due at eight thirty Eastern.
Weekly jobless claims are due later in the day.
These releases will test whether lower bond yields can cushion rate-sensitive shares after Wednesday's inflation shock.

The first confirmation is whether semiconductor selling narrows after the data and whether gains broaden beyond defensive and value groups.
