CAMS Closing Market Recap.
Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Good evening.
Energy led Tuesday's market, but all four major United States indexes finished lower as health care and banks weakened and memory-chip pressure continued.
The S and P 500 closed at 7,805.45, down 0.02%.
The Nasdaq Composite closed at 27,204.38, down 0.15%.
The Dow closed at 51,670.10, down 0.35%.
The Russell 2000 fell 0.37%.
Five of eleven tracked sector funds rose.
Energy gained 1.80%, while health care led the declines.
Financials lost 0.42%.
The semiconductor fund fell 0.49%, and Micron lost 3.62%.
The equal-weight S and P 500 fund edged up 0.05%, even as the broad index slipped.
The 10-year Treasury yield finished near 5.213%.
The dollar index fell 0.39% to 102.194.
The V I X ended at 15.27, up 0.39%.
November West Texas Intermediate crude settled at $94.14 a barrel.
Mixed bank earnings did not lift the group by the close.
JPMorgan Chase fell 0.86%, and Citigroup fell 5.60%.
September existing-home sales rose 1.5% to a 3.99 million annual rate.
Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said higher long-term yields reflect stronger real growth, artificial-intelligence investment, and government-debt concerns rather than unanchored inflation expectations.
September consumer prices are due Wednesday at eight thirty Eastern.
Middle East shipping risk stayed in view, but no new verified physical supply outage was established in the research window.
The close was orderly, yet falling small caps, health care, financials, and memory shares left risk appetite uneven.
