Tesla (TSLA, quote) announced it will update the battery plate with a titanium plate in order to prevent battery fires. The bolt on change is in response from the two Model S fire incidents last year that the media picked up and ran with video of the model S on fire for weeks on end.  The fires where caused by road debris when the car ran over it and it
